Capturing a moment and holding the audience in it
The 2025 Leadership Conference was hosted in Auckland at the Viaduct Events Centre, a premier venue featuring a 25 metre by 5 metre screen and a high-profile audience of more than 500 CEOs, company directors and leaders from across New Zealand and beyond.
The Institute of Directors asked us to position the event, create an opening video and design a matching stage show.
We quickly landed on Now Matters, built on the insight that in an unstable climate, looking ahead is difficult. People want permission to simply be in the moment.
We told this story as a conversation between two attendees that echoed the chats happening that evening. Hello. How’s it going. Big year, huh? The narrative then suggested that maybe the best thing to do right now is be present. Because all of that matters, but now matters too.
Written, designed and directed by HOOF, animated by National Park, and scored with a jazz-infused piece by Jeremy Cullen, the work set the tone for the two-day event. It was met with a round of applause and several encore screenings across the conference.
A complete stage graphics package carried the aesthetic throughout, creating a cohesive and polished experience.
